Staff Grievance Documentation and Recent Board Policy Changes

Documented grievance communication from 29 LCS staff members to Leadership:

  • 2.5.26: Public Head of School Letter to Association

“…The LCS Constitution requires that all faculty and staff affirm and live consistently with the Doctrinal Statement and Purpose of the school and actively participate in churches aligned with those beliefs… During my first six months at LCS, I encountered situations in which this biblical standard was not consistently upheld, and I addressed them…”

  • 2.12.26 Staff Grievance to Dr. Zajicek, Head of School

“…The faculty remains in agreement with the school’s statement on human sexuality and continues in their commitment to teaching from that perspective. Your claim of “encountering situations in your first six months in which the biblical standard was not consistently upheld” is difficult to reconcile without tangible evidence. If these involve staff practices or curriculum, clarity regarding specific instances would be helpful to move forward together in unity. If they concern private student or family matters, presenting them as institutional evidence of "drift" is unfounded. Because of this lack of clarity, staff are left feeling confused and families with an unnecessary fear of worldliness creeping into their children’s education…”

  • 2.16.26 Response from Dr. Zajicek to staff

“…You expressed concern about references to areas where biblical standards were not consistently upheld regarding Biblical sexuality. Leadership sometimes requires addressing patterns or inconsistencies without publicly naming individuals or incidents…”

  • 2.18.26 Staff to Board of Trustees

“…As teachers, we are also concerned about the assertion that conversations around biblical sexuality and racial identity are “areas of drift that threatened the foundation upon which LCS was established… Please provide documentation of this supposed drift, or publicly apologize to correct this misrepresentation of the school…”

  • 3.14.26 Board of Trustees Response to Staff

“…After a thorough review of the materials made available to us we did not find evidence of incorrect information or misrepresentations in Dr. Zajicek’s February 5th email to the Association. As such we will not be issuing any corrections, nor will we be directing Dr. Zajicek to issue any corrections.

3.2.25 Detailed Grievance filed by Katherine Lohman, Member of the BBBB Planning Committee:
“I also requested Dr. Zajicek correct the now public misconception that the team was unwilling to work with him to adjust the event, which there is strong record to refute. He again maintained that there was nothing to correct.
